“Hiring Nicole was one of the best decisions I made postpartum. She came in with such warmth and care, creating nourishing, organic meals that supported my recovery and milk supply. Every dish felt intentional, healing, and deeply satisfying - I’ve never felt so satiated or well-nourished. Beyond her incredible cooking, Nicole’s kindness and calm energy brought so much comfort during this time. I’m endlessly grateful for her and couldn’t imagine my postpartum experience without her.”

The first fourty days

The Chinese postpartum “sitting period",” known as Zuo Yue Zi or “sitting the month” is a traditional practice meant to create an atmosphere of rest and recovery for the mother after childbirth. Too often in our culture women are told to “get back to work,” “keep up with the house,” or “lose the baby weight” as soon as they get home from the hospital. Traditional Chinese as well as many other postpartum practices around the world encourage the mother to fully heal, adjust to life with a new baby, and spend time with their new, larger, family.
